1980年、福岡県生まれ。東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科修士課程絵画専攻油画修了。現在、愛知県を拠点に活動。
ウズラの卵やチューイングガム、石膏やビニールシートといった従来の絵画材料とは異なる素材を使った作品は、あいまいな意識を刺激し、不安定な心に潜む原始的な知覚や思念を顕現させる。ベルリン滞在後は写真によって現実とは異なるスケールで表現する手法を展開しており、本展が日本初の公開となる。
主な展覧会・受賞に、個展「Mesa」Künstlerhaus Bethanien (ベルリン,ドイツ/2020)、個展「spot」KAYOKOYUKI(東京/2017)、個展「project N 55」東京オペラシティ・アートギャラリー(2014)、「アートアワードトー キョー2008」グランプリ受賞 丸の内行幸地下ギャラリー(東京/2008)、ALLOTMENT トラベルアワード2016 グランプリ受賞(2016)など。

Works made using such unconventional painting materials as quail eggs, chewing gum, plaster and plastic sheet excite undefinable feelings and reveal the primitive perceptions and cogitations lurking in the unstable soul. Since her time in Berlin, Otaguro has been developing a technique using photography to achieve expression on an unreal scale, and DOMANI 2021 marks the Japanese debut of these latest works.
