1974年、茨城県生まれ。玉川大学文学部芸術学科卒業。現在、フランスを拠点に活動。
極端に露出アンダー又はオーバーに撮影することで黒および白で一面が覆われた抽象的で清閑な写真作品の制作を続ける。近年は二つの異なる風景を印画紙上に重ねることで現実には存在しない空間をつくり出すシリーズを手掛けている。本展では初の試みとして、音によるインスタレーションも合わせた構成で展覧する。
主な展覧会に、個展「vision|noisiv」TARO NASU(東京/2017)、「Moment-時間のかけら」群馬県立近代美術館(2018)、「あざみ野フォト・アニュアル 写真の境界」横浜市民ギャラリーあざみ野(2014)、「日本の新進作家展 vol.10 写真の飛躍」東京都写真美術館(2011)など。

By under- or over-exposing her shots to an extreme degree, Haruki Maiko creates serene, abstract photographic works in which the entire surface is covered in black or white. In recent years she has been working on a series that overlaps two different landscapes on photographic paper to create spaces that do not exist in reality. This year’s DOMANI exhibition will present Haruki’s works in conjunction with a sound installation, a first for the artist.
